Christie Cookie Company

Update Review, Feb 2023

On a recent United flight, I had a remarkably kind FA.  She saw how much I enjoyed the Eli's "Pie in the sky" cookies, and then proceeded to *also* give me a cookie from her own meal, made by Christie Cookie Company, a white chocolate cranberry cookie, individually wrapped.

The best I can tell, this flavor is exclusive to United Airlines.  Christie Cookie Company makes a white chocolate cherry, and a white chocolate macadamia, but not white chocolate cranberry for the public.  This seems to be a common move by Christie Cookie Company, as the very first product of theirs that I had was the "famous" DoubleTree hotel cookie, which they actually make, and is the signature thing for the hotel brand.
White Chocolate Cranberry.
Yes, this was a packaged, mass produced, cookie, but actually, it was pretty good.  It was soft. It was buttery.  It was really sweet from the generous white chocolate chunks.  It had little bits of chew from the cranberries.  Decent at room temperature, considerably better once I popped in the toaster oven for a few minutes to warm it up, and dunked it in whipped cream.  I wouldn't go out of my way for one, but I was certainly glad to have it, and would snag another if given the chance.

Update Review, 2021/2022 Tastings

I've said many times that I'm not really a cookie girl, but, sometimes I do appreciate a good cookie ... generally when warm, soft, gooey, and served with ice cream or whipped cream and fresh fruit.  You know, making it a "real" dessert.  But I don't generally just seek out cookies on their own.

That said, the famous Doubletree cookie still sticks in my mind, and every time I get a chance to try another cookie by Christie Cookie Company, the makers of said cookie, I do.
White Chocolate Cherry. (Dec 2021).
"With a cherry on top! Or in this case, in every nook and cranny. We’ve deliciously intertwined dried, red tart cherries with real white chocolate."

This was a good cookie.  Soft.  Slightly gooey inside, slightly crisp edge.  Like all Christie Cookie cookies, a very sweet, very buttery, fairly decadent base. The large hunks of white chocolate added even more sweetness (and, once I warmed it, delightful gooeyness!), and the cherries, although dried, were somehow still fairly juicy, not crispy and meh like raisins often are in cookies.

Overall, a pleasant cookie, and I appreciated the large size, and quantity of, the white chocolate chunks.

Another decent cookie, these seemed a bit thicker, and softer, which I liked.

Original Review, January 2019

Have you ever stayed at a DoubleTree hotel?  Well, I haven't in many years, and I don't remember anything about my stay except ... the cookies.  ZOMG, the cookies.  When you check in, you get served a glorious, glorious warm cookie (chocolate chunk with walnuts in it).  Its ... amazing.  Or, so says my memory of literally ... 20 years ago?

But I didn't forget those cookies, and when I found out the company that produces the cookies, The Christie Cookie Company, supplied a box of cookies someone brought in to the office this holiday season, I was first in line to snag a cookie.
"Our assortments tell our story. The chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies represent our zero added preservatives, gourmet ingredients, no-compromise pledge to quality’s reign over quantity. We humbly and with great pride invite you to explore the classics… and prepare to have your socks blown clean off!"
The first cookie I tried was the oatmeal raisin.

Now, this is a good point to laugh at me.  I tell you all the time that I don't really like cookies.  And please, oatmeal raisin?  But, I liked it, so it inspired me to try their entire product line.  Our assortment did not have the Doubletree cookie, although, yes you can order them yourself online, but it did have 3 options: oatmeal raisin, white chocolate macadamia, and chocolate chip.  I tried them all.  All had one unexpected ingredient: Heath toffee bits.  Random, but, kinda awesome.
Oatmeal Raisin.
"Or as our bakers call it, chocolate chip’s rowdy cousin. Delicious whole plump California raisins, buttery oats and Heath® toffee."

You might think that going for the oatmeal raisin first was an odd move on my part, until I admit that it was 7:30am, and, uh, I had it for breakfast.  Er, as part of my very balanced breakfast.  Oatmeal raisin *did* seem the most breakfast appropriate!  Oats! Raisins! Right?

Anyway, I liked it.  It was a soft, sweet, buttery cookie.  Slightly hearty from the oats, little pops of chew from the raisins, and sweetness from the unexpected toffee bits.  A sweet soft cookie.  Not breakfast, but, enjoyable.
Oatmeal Raisin (2021).
I had it again, years later, not remembering I'd tried it before.

Oatmeal raisin is never a cook that I'll choose given other options, but, it was all that was available, and thus, I tried it.

It was a decent cookie. Soft, good chew.  VERY sweet. This isn't an oatmeal raisin cookie for those who are looking for a healthy option. Clearly sugar loaded.  If only it didn't have raisins ...

Chocolate Chip.
"The classic you always want in the cookie jar, brimming with the finest premium semi-sweet chocolates and Heath toffee."

The chocolate chip cookie was also good, close to the classic Doubletree chocolate chip cookie, although those have walnut bits.  The chocolate came in large chunks, and was decent quality  This too had a little bit of toffee hiding in there for additional sweetness.

Again, a soft, sweet cookie, quite enjoyable.
White Chocolate Macadamia Nut.
"Never underestimate the power of a well-placed macadamia nut. This cookie has many of them, cozied up with delectable real white chocolate and Heath® toffee."

I saved the best for last though.  I adored the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie.  Big chunks of sweet white chocolate, big crunchy macadamias, and ... yup, hidden toffee as well.

And again, a soft, sweet base. Hands down my favorite.
